Alicante Airport to Dénia: Transfers and Ferry Port

Dénia: the northern gateway of the Costa Blanca

Dénia sits about 95 km from Alicante–Elche Airport, at the foot of the Montgó massif. The drive takes roughly 1 hour 15 minutes on the AP-7, exiting at junction 62 for Ondara. Many visitors stay in the long sandy beaches of Les Marines and Les Deveses, others in the rocky coves of Les Rotes on the way to Jávea. Because public transport between the airport and Dénia involves a bus and the slow coastal TRAM, a door-to-door transfer saves at least an hour each way.

Catching a ferry to Ibiza or Mallorca

Dénia is the closest mainland port to Ibiza and Formentera, with Baleària sailings to Mallorca as well. Foot passengers usually need to be at the terminal 60–90 minutes before departure. If you fly into Alicante and sail the same day, allow at least three hours between landing and sailing to cover baggage reclaim and the drive. Villas around Montgó and Les Rotes

Addresses on the Montgó slopes and in La Xara or Jesús Pobre are scattered and poorly signposted. Share a map pin on WhatsApp before you fly and the driver will go straight to the gate. Families with young children can request free baby seats, toddler seats and boosters — required by Spanish law for children under 135 cm.

Things to see in Dénia

Climb to the castle for the view over the port, eat the famous Dénia red prawn in the Baix la Mar fishermen's quarter, and hike the Cap de Sant Antoni lighthouse path. Jávea's Granadella cove and the Portitxol viewpoint are 20 minutes away.
