About Barcelona
Barcelona packs a UNESCO-listed modernist skyline, 4.5 km of city beaches and a hill full of museums into a place you can cross in half an hour. Neighbourhoods have very different personalities: the Gothic Quarter for medieval lanes, Eixample for Gaudí and shopping, Gràcia for squares full of locals, Poblenou for the calmest sand. Almost every visitor arrives through El Prat airport, 15 km south of Plaça de Catalunya.

- Pickpocketing peaks on La Rambla and the L3 metro line — keep bags in front of you.
- Sunday is museum-heavy and shop-light: most stores close, museums are free from 15:00 on the first Sunday of the month.
