About Costa Blanca

The Costa Blanca runs from Dénia in the north to the salt lagoons of Torrevieja in the south, with Alicante airport sitting almost exactly in the middle. The northern half is rocky and green — Jávea, Moraira and Altea hide coves under pine cliffs. The southern half is flatter, sunnier and built for long beach holidays, with Benidorm's skyline in between. Nearly every visitor lands at Alicante-Elche (ALC), which is why a pre-booked Costa Blanca private transfer is the simplest way to reach a villa or resort without changing buses.

• Northern resorts (Jávea, Moraira) are mostly villas on hillsides — give the driver the full urbanisation name.
• Sea temperatures stay swimmable into late October, well after the crowds have gone.
