About Blanes
Blanes is a real town first and a resort second. Its fish auction still runs every afternoon, the Sa Palomera rock officially marks the start of the Costa Brava, and two botanical gardens — Marimurtra and Pinya de Rosa — sit on the cliffs above the sea. It is the closest Costa Brava beach town to Barcelona airport.

- Visit Marimurtra before noon; the cliff terrace has no shade in the afternoon.
