- Bonfires of Sant Joan (20-24 June) fill the centre with monuments and closed streets — plan pick-ups from the edge of the old town.
- Playa de San Juan is 7 km from the centre; check which beach your hotel actually faces before booking.
- The castle lift is cheap and saves a steep 30-minute climb in the heat.
