About Altea
Altea is Benidorm's opposite number, eight kilometres up the coast: no towers, a pebble beach, and a hilltop old town of white houses climbing to the blue-tiled dome of Nuestra Señora del Consuelo. Galleries and small restaurants fill the stepped lanes, and the marina at Campomanes handles the yachts. Because the centre is pedestrian and steep, a private transfer to Altea that drops you at the right plaza saves a long walk with suitcases.

Travel tips
- The old town is closed to traffic in the evening; ask to be dropped at Plaça del Convent.
- Beaches are pebbles, not sand — water shoes make swimming far more comfortable.
- Restaurants in the upper town fill from 20:30 in summer; reserve, especially at weekends.
