Where Cambrils sits and how long it takes
Cambrils is 105 km south of Barcelona Airport on the Costa Dorada, an hour and fifteen minutes by motorway. From Reus Airport it is barely 15 minutes, which is why so many charter passengers land there in summer. The town splits between Cambrils Port, built around the working fishing harbour, and Cambrils Vila, the older centre a kilometre inland.
Why it is a food destination
The fishing fleet still lands daily and the auction sets the menu, which is how a town this size ended up with Michelin-starred kitchens alongside simple harbour terraces serving romesco, arrossejat and grilled prawns. Dinner sittings run late; if you are staying up in the hills or in a villa, arrange the return leg in advance rather than hoping for a taxi at midnight.
Apartments and urbanisations
Many rentals sit in urbanisations such as Vilafortuny or Cala Vidre, several hundred metres uphill from the beach. Give us the full street address and block number so the driver stops at the right entrance rather than the nearest roundabout.
Getting there without a car
The R16 regional train reaches Cambrils station from Barcelona in around two hours, but you must first get from the airport into Sants or Passeig de Gràcia, and the station is a 20-minute walk from most seafront hotels.
