What a long-distance private transfer from Barcelona to Valencia, Alicante or Madrid actually involves: timings, stops, costs and when the AVE is the better call.
Realistic timings
Barcelona to Valencia is around 3 h 30 door to door, Barcelona to Alicante close to 5 h, and Barcelona to Madrid about 6 h 30 with one comfort stop. Those are motorway figures with tolls; we build the stop into the schedule rather than pretending the drive is non-stop.
When a car beats the high-speed train
The AVE to Madrid takes 2 h 30 city centre to city centre and is usually the sensible choice for one or two travellers. The car wins for groups of four to seven, for oversized luggage, ski gear or instruments, for door-to-door service to somewhere without a station, and for schedules outside train hours — an 04:00 departure for a morning flight, for instance.
Valencia as a stop, not just a destination
Valencia sits almost exactly halfway to Alicante, so many guests break the journey there for a couple of hours at the City of Arts and Sciences before continuing south.

Long routes are quoted per vehicle with tolls, fuel and driver time included, confirmed in writing on WhatsApp before you commit. There is no meter and no surcharge for a night departure. For one-way trips we also quote the return leg separately, so you can compare it with a train or a domestic flight honestly.
