15 minutes to the historic centre

Málaga–Costa del Sol Airport is only 8 km from the city. A private transfer reaches the Alameda Principal and Soho in 15–20 minutes, the cathedral and Calle Larios area in about 20, and the eastern beach districts of Pedregalejo and El Palo in 25 minutes.

Where your driver waits

Most flights arrive at Terminal 3. Your driver waits in the arrivals hall with a name sign and messages you on WhatsApp as soon as the flight lands. If baggage reclaim is slow — common on Friday and Saturday afternoons in summer — waiting time is included.

Train, bus or private car?

The C1 Cercanías train runs to María Zambrano and Centro-Alameda every 20 minutes and the A express bus serves the centre. Both work well for light travellers. A private transfer is better for late arrivals, families with child seats, cruise passengers heading to the port, and hotels inside the pedestrian old town where the driver can get you to the nearest point.

Using Málaga as a base

Málaga makes an excellent base: the Picasso Museum, the Alcazaba and Gibralfaro castle are in the centre, while Nerja, Marbella and even Granada can be reached on a day trip with a private driver.
