Catalan France: a royal palace, wine villages and the Côte Vermeille
About Perpignan (France)
Perpignan is the capital of French Catalonia, 30 km past the Spanish border. It was once the mainland capital of the Kingdom of Majorca, whose palace still dominates the old town, and today it is a relaxed base for the Roussillon wine villages and the Côte Vermeille fishing harbours of Collioure and Banyuls. Perpignan is about 220 km from Barcelona Airport, roughly two hours by private cross-border transfer.
