About Fuengirola
Fuengirola is the Costa del Sol's most practical family base: eight kilometres of gently shelving sand, a flat promenade you can walk end to end, Sohail castle above the river mouth and a train line that reaches Málaga and the airport in half an hour. Los Boliches and Torreblanca add quieter stretches, while Mijas Pueblo sits ten minutes uphill for the white-village day out. The airport is 28 km away, around 25 minutes by road.

Travel tips
- The C-1 Cercanías train runs to the airport until around 23:00 — later arrivals need a transfer.
- Hotels are spread over 8 km of seafront; confirm which end of the promenade yours is on.
- Mijas Pueblo's donkey taxis are controversial; walking the village takes barely an hour.
