About Cádiz
Cádiz sits on a spit of land almost entirely surrounded by the Atlantic, which gives it sea light, sea wind and La Caleta sunsets between two castles. Founded by the Phoenicians around 1100 BC, it claims the title of Europe's oldest continuously inhabited city, and its February carnival is the wittiest in Spain. Playa de la Victoria runs three kilometres along the newer town, and the sherry towns of Jerez and El Puerto are half an hour away.
