Madrid Barajas Airport to the City Centre: Transfer Guide

Four terminals, one city

Madrid–Barajas has terminals T1, T2 and T3 grouped together and the separate T4, used by Iberia and oneworld airlines. From any terminal the private transfer to Puerta del Sol or Gran Vía takes 25–35 minutes, to the Salamanca district about 25, and to Atocha or Chamartín stations 25–30 minutes outside rush hour.

Meeting your driver

Tell us your flight number and we confirm the terminal. At T4 the driver waits in the arrivals hall after customs; at T1 and T2 in the corresponding arrivals area. Long-haul arrivals from the Americas often take 45 minutes or more for passport control, and our waiting time covers it.

Metro, Cercanías or private car?

Metro line 8 and the C1 Cercanías train are efficient but require a supplement and changes to reach most hotels. The Exprés Aeropuerto bus runs 24 hours to Cibeles and Atocha. With heavy luggage, children or a business schedule, a fixed-price private transfer is quicker and more predictable.

Madrid and beyond

Toledo, Segovia and El Escorial are all within an hour for day trips. If you are travelling on to Barcelona, a long-distance private transfer is also possible as an alternative to the high-speed train.
