Flying into Girona or Reus Instead of Barcelona?

Why secondary airports can save time

Catalonia has three international airports. Barcelona El Prat has the most flights, but Girona–Costa Brava and Reus are often closer to where you are actually staying. If your hotel is in Lloret de Mar, Tossa or the Costa Dorada, landing at the smaller airport can cut your road time in half and get you through arrivals faster.

Girona–Costa Brava Airport

Girona is about 35 minutes from Lloret de Mar and 25 minutes from Girona old town. Barcelona city is around 1h10 away. Flights are dominated by low-cost and seasonal charter carriers, so schedules change between summer and winter and late-night arrivals are common.

Reus Airport

Reus is only 15 minutes from Salou and PortAventura and about 15 minutes from Cambrils. Its season is concentrated between April and October, with many UK and Irish flights. For families heading to the Costa Dorada it is usually the easiest airport of all.

When Barcelona El Prat is still better

If your flight to Girona or Reus is much more expensive, lands at an awkward hour, or you are staying in Barcelona, Sitges or Castelldefels, El Prat remains the logical choice. We cover all three airports with the same fixed-price service, flight monitoring and meet & greet.
