South: Blanes to Tossa
Cala Sant Francesc, Santa Cristina and Cala Pola are the easiest introductions — sand, pine shade and small kiosks. All three have car parks that fill before 10:00 in August, which is why arriving by transfer and walking the camí de ronda works better.
Centre: Begur and Palafrugell
Aiguablava, Sa Tuna, Tamariu and Calella de Palafrugell are the postcard coves. The path from Calella to Llafranc takes 25 minutes and is flat enough for children.
North: Cap de Creus
Cadaqués, Portlligat and the wild inlets of Cap de Creus feel like another country. The road in is slow and narrow, so plan a full day and let someone else drive.
