Montserrat travel guide & transfers
A Benedictine monastery among serrated peaks, an hour from Barcelona
About Montserrat
Montserrat is Catalonia's spiritual mountain: a monastery perched at 720 metres among rock towers shaped like a saw, home to the Black Madonna and one of Europe's oldest boys' choirs. It is the most popular day trip from Barcelona, around 60 km away. A private transfer drives you straight to the monastery car park, skipping the train-plus-cable-car connection and letting you combine Montserrat with a winery in the Penedès on the same day.
